Two Zodiacs, Two Different You: The Hidden Split Between Vedic and Tropical Astrology. -

How the sky is measured differently in Vedic and Tropical Astrology and why it changes your sign?

Just when you think you figured out your astrology and learning more and more about astrology, you hear another version called Vedic or Sidereal Astrology or Tropical depending on which one you learned first.

A few years back I was looking up at the stars and noticed the moon was off with the current tropical constellation. It was supposed to be a moon in Gemini, but it looked like Taurus. So, I grabbed my phone with a sky reader and yes in fact it was a moon in the Taurus sign. I was shocked, how could this be? I left a message in my astrology community and no one responded very odd. Then a week later I heard someone else wondering the same thing. Did the constellations change on me? Well, I found out Tropical Astrology doesn’t exactly reflect the actual night sky, but Vedic does. So, my ancestors would look at the night skies and seaman would travel the oceans the same way. I had to verify more into this massive knowledge.

I had to know what is correct, my own eyes show me above.

Most of you whom are reading this article are used to Tropical astrology. So, then you find out there’s many other types of astrology out there as well. It can be very confusing as it was for me and I’m still learning like everyone else. Some astrologers get very heated and upset with understandings and concern that their astrology is in fact accurate. It’s almost like religion in its own way. Which I find very interesting. So, this reading I will just provide the basics on the differences.

Vedic astrology aligns with zodiac of the actual constellations in the sky. What’s above you is actually what it is.

Tropical astrology aligns with zodiac seasons of Earth. This reflects Spring, Summer, Fall & Winter Solstices.

There is what’s called Axial Precession due to Earth’s movements which two systems 23 to 24 degrees apart. Thus, moves a zodiac sign into previous one. So, your a Leo in Tropical with the degrees you are moved to Cancer zodiac.

Tropical West Basics:

1. Spring Equinox is the first zodiac so Aries Zodiac is number one sign.

2. Tropical is keyed with the Earth’s seasons.

3. Your zodiac will continue in the same in this type of system due to seasons.

Vedic Astrology (The Sidereal System):

1. This system comes from Ancient India Times (Jyotish)

2. This system is the actual positions of the constellations.

3. This system does adjust with the Earth’s slow shift over time, but its over thousands of years.

4. This system is one sign earlier with the movements of the planets.

So, the Tropical astrology is a seasonal clock version and Vedic astrology is a star based clock.
